A PEEK INTO THE PAST
Inspired by Peranakan shophouses nestled around Singapore, this zone houses familiar local and traditional brands. Heritage-themed façades and furnishings evoke a sense of nostalgia.
PERANAKAN LOVE STORY
On the central shophouse façade, a six-minute theatrical performance is screened at intervals, giving travellers a glimpse of life in 1930s Singapore. Playing out to the melodious Bunga Sayang, Peranakan Love Story tells the story of a blossoming romance between two passionate musicians living next to each other.
The short film was produced in collaboration with local Singapore artists, including Dick Lee, Adrian Pang, Benjamin Kheng and Koh Chieng Mun.
